Good Morning, afternoon or Good Evening wherever you may be! This is my first guest blog post on Dana Arevalo's great blog on www.365daysofhealthandfitness.com I am honored to say the least as I am rapidly becoming a big fan of her and her work on there! What I wanted to share with you today is a story of struggle, perseverance and celebrated victory..
All of us at one time or another in our quest of leading a more fitness lifestyle have come across quite a few obstacles along the way. Maybe it's you began exercising and quickly got discouraged and gave up with yours hands in the air. Maybe it's juggling family and work obligations and convincing yourself that you are too stressed out or not enough time today to get a good session in. Or were you ever in the gym but felt out of place and cut your workout short? Does any of this sound familiar to you at all? I would like to think that every person in the gym has experienced this in one form or another.
That's the secret, each and every one of us has started on the path as a beginner! The beauty of fitness is that no one but you are responsible for it's outcome but you! The work that you do is yours and yours alone and to reap in it's results!
When broken down to it's very essence, a set of weight resistance exercise when done properly is to push until you cannot push no more! When your whole body is shaking to push it to the very top and you have reached that level you didn't even know existed is when the growth mechanism has now been engaged!
Just as excuses have no uses! Overcome all Challenges before you because you know that with no challenges there is no growth! That you are in essence a creature of mythical proportions the phoenix!
Phoenix Bird:
A Phoenix is a mythical bird with a colorful plumage and a tail of gold and scarlet. It has a 500-1,000 year life cycle, near the end of which it builds itself a nest of twigs that then ignites; both nest and bird burn fiercely and are reduced to ashes, from which a new, young phoenix arises reborn anew to live again!
When faced with a bout of discouragement again remind yourself who you are and spread those wings out as far as you can and know that you are unstoppable in life and on this path of fitness you will continue to set ablaze!
