A Man

Father Michael Landon aka Charles Ingalls

Someone I wanted to honor today is a man that
I always turn to when I need to find my center.
In my quest to find meaning the last few days, I
try to turn to to the touchstones in my life to show
me the way. One of those main people would be
Michael Landon aka Charles Ingalls.

Much like Michael's unhappy childhood which
I identified with through my years of physical
and verbal abuse he was determined through his
sheer will to leave a positive imprint on the world.

He admired Steve Reeves a famous American
bodybuilder and actor made famous for his role
in the Hercules movies to the point where he as
well started working out and growing his hair out.

It was Michael's character that mimicked his own
life and that of Charles Ingalls. Who was not only
the reason I started working out but to form who
I wanted as a father and for someone I wanted to
become. He radiated the sense of home and hearth.
Providing for his family no matter what, speaking
to his children not at them. He also had such a
bulldog perseverance against all of lifes adversity,
natural or man made. Demolishing the doubt.

A Man is a leader who brings all of his loved ones
together and not tear them down. He shows them the
way and is the strength and pillar for all to lean on.
He takes the worst the world throws at him to be
able to lighten the load for those he cares about most.
He knows that matters of the heart are of not just
about who may share his blood line. How he is thought
of and what he leaves behind is imperative.

A Man starves his ego to feed his soul because he
knows that all that matters in this world is his family.

Hitting the Wall

Hitting the Wall

"Do not let the fire go out,
spark by irreplacible spark,
in the hopeless swamps of the
approximate , the not-quite,
the not-at-all.

Do not let the hero in your soul
perish, in lonely frustration for
for the life you deserved, but
have not been able to reach.
Check your road and the
nature of your battle. The world
you desired can be won, it exists,
it is real, it is possible, it is yours.
Ayn Ran
Atlas Shrugged

If you have been a reader here
for long, you know that I like to
quote from Ayn Rand from time
to time. This is one of my many
favorite quotes of hers if i ever
hit a wall.

Have you come up against a wall
suddenly and feel like there is
nothing left to do? Whatever it
is that your gunning for whether
it is a New Years resolution to
lose weight or a financial or job
goal that you are aiming for you
may feel like you have hit the wall.

As the legendary Dusty Rhodes
have said, "There is no way out
but to get out!"

Rings true, wishing is just a mere
fantasy. Action will make take
those dreams and turn them into
reality.

Whatever you do remember, if you
hit that wall, action is still needed
more than ever!

Crawl, scratch, dig, keep it going.
Swing that hammer with more
determined blows. You will start
to make a dent. You will begin to
break through.

Now is more important than ever
to remain open to the possibility
that things can and will change
with the goal in your mind and
that hammer in your hand.

Remember to keep...

2012 Year in Review and Moving Forward.

Good Morning, Afternoon or Good
Evening wherever you may be. I want
to Thank you for stopping by our site
today. I do hope that it finds you in
good spirits. Today's post is our 2012
year in review and moving forward
into 2013 and beyond.

Lots of changes and shake ups have
happened. Our site really picked up
steam when I introduced my 90 Day
Challenge to the public back in May.
A Challenge that I started in Feburary
and as of this writing have lost a total
of 48 pounds of bodyfat.

Have forged a lot of friendships because
of that and with a ton of emails and
private messages of their own body
transformations have been nothing
short of inspiring!

Where my little blog / website was
being hardly viewed at all in the
first few months of 2012 has now
been viewed in every major country
in the world. From Brockton, MA
to Israel, India, Australia, Germany,
and Sweden, Greenland and to all
parts in between. To be able to reach
and talk to so many different people
is amazing. Never dreamed that could
be possible. For that I thank you!

The tail end of 2012 has also seen the
end of my marriage. 20 years and
the towel has been thrown in. For
both of us to continue to evolve and
be happy, this had to happen. Endings
only happen so new bolder and braver
beginnings can start.

What has not worked for you this year
to reach and get closer to your goals,
discard it and look for a brand new
approach. I believe, what you choose
to focus on comes back to you!

Moving Forward 2013
Will see the start of the 90 Day Challenge
come January 1st. (More on that this week)
A permanent address to call home, also
I think I may have told only one person, but
hope to also finish a planned e-book. To
also get certified in one on one personal
training and group training. Lots of great
things coming up on the horizon and am
excited to get those realized.

Most of all will be to also get to know you
much more, after all we are in this together!

How was your year? And moving forward
what are you excited about the most
for 2013?

Remember to keep....

Back for More..

Defeat has been tasted,
bittersweet if swallowed.

Spit out that darkness,
or fade into the shadows.

Self mocking beat down,
Past digressions internalized.

Repeated history learned,
Alone, hope will not
materialize.

Wishing will not make it
Go away...

Get in the ring, lose this round.
I am, I sing, I am this sound.

Wishing will not make it
Go away...

Ring the bell, I've failed before.
Everyday, I'll be
Back for More!

Remember to keep...

I want to Give Up...

Good Morning, Afternoon or Good
Evening wherever you may be. Thank
you for stopping by our site today.
I do hope it finds you in good
spirits. Hurricane Sandy has
been running through the east
coast and up here in the north
east we should be feeling the
full effects soon. My thoughts
and wishes are for all of you to
be safe!

I'VE HAD ENOUGH!

I WANT TO GIVE UP!

I want to give up...
On Excuses of why something
hasn't happened. If I want
something, I will make it happen.

I want to give up...
Wasting time on people, places
and things. Users of negativity
will no longer take up valuable
energy that can go elsewhere.

I want to give up...
Distractions. If a project is started
I will finish it before a new one
is to begin.

I want to give up...
Taking the easy road. Easy is not
a challenge. If it's not a challenge
it will not change me.
Life is growth!

I want to give up...
Fear of the unknown. If I fail,
then I will learn from it.

I want to give up...
Wearing blinders. To stop
thinking of myself. To heal and
connect with others.

I want to give up...
Static conversations. If a friend,
relative or coworker needs help,
help them. If not, stop talking.

I want to give up...
Judgement. Every one of us has
a deeper story. Condemnation
is not allowed.

I want to give up...
Barriers. Instead of putting up
Walls. I want to build bridges.

I want to give up...
Worry. Build a plan and take
massive action. But to also be
flexible enough to change when
needed.

NOW YOU!
What do you want to give up?

Leave them in the comments
section below.

I want to thank you again for
stopping by here today. I do
hope it helps you in some way
on your own journey.

Incision Indecision...

Good Morning, Afternoon or Good
Evening wherever you may be.
Thank you for stopping by our site
today to read our new post. I do
hope it finds you in good spirits.

Choices are all around us. What we
decide upon, good or bad makes us
who we are. Now that's not to say
the past makes up entirely who we
are, but of this thing we always hear
about,this thing called karma.

What we decide.

What we choose to do attracts
back onto us.

I am a firm believer in this.

A robber or moocher will not escape
the choices he has made of
dependancy, guilt and of what lady
luck may give him.

The emotional eater will not escape
the effects of the high empty calories
and high sugared foods that will
wreak havoc on their bodies.

But so the kind heart that shares their
love of the world and the people in it
will not escape that either.

The hard worker who thinks for
themselves and make things happen
because the pursuit of their highest
ideals is their character is also
inescapable.

Choose wisely.

Get off the fence.

Whats for you or against you.

Remove the procrastination

and Incision Indecision.

I want to Thank you again for stopping
by here today. I do hope it helps you
in some way on your own journey.
What are you procrastinating about?
What do you want to decide on once
and for all? Remember to keep.....

The 13 Virtues of Benjamin Franklin...

Benjamin Franklin

Good Morning, Afternoon or Good Evening wherever you may
be. Thank You for stopping by our site today. I hope this finds
you in good spirits. I wanted to share with you today my findings
upon reading the Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin. There
are many highlights within the book that I may write more about
in the future, but, todays post will be on what he would have
published "The Art of Virtue".

Benjamin Franklin conceived a bold and arduous
project of arriving at moral perfection. His intention being to
acquire the habitude of all these virtues. His thought process was
of widdling down these to 13 Virtues with very short precepts
attached to them. Here I will list all of them.

1. TEMPERANCE.- Eat not to dullness; drink not to elevation.

2. SILENCE.- Speak not but what may benefit others or
                        yourself; avoid trifling conversation.

3. ORDER.- Let all your things have their places;
Let each part of your buisness have it's time.

4. RESOLUTION.- Resolve to perform what you ought;
Perform without fail what you resolve.

5. FRUGALITY.- Make no expense but to do good to others or
                              yourself; that is, waste nothing.

6. INDUSTRY.- Lose no time; be always employed in something
useful; cut off all unnecessary actions.

7. SINCERITY.- Use no hurtful deciet; Think innocently and
justly; and, if you speak, speak accordingly.

8. JUSTICE.- Wrong none by doing injuries; or omitting the
                       benefits that are your duty.

9. MODERATION.- Avoid extremes; forbear resenting injuries;
So much as you think they deserve.

10. CLEANLINESS.- Tolerate no uncleanliness in body, clothes
                                    or habitation.

11. TRANQUILITY.- Be not disturbed at trifles or at accidents
                                    common or unavoidable.

12. CHASITY............

13. HUMILITY.- Imitate Jesus and Socrates.

He knew that giving all of these his attention at once to be
a distraction. So to make it a habit to master each one he made
a little book allotting a page for each virtue. Ruled each page
with red ink, so as to have seven colums, one for each day of
the week, marking each column with a letter for the day. Then
crossed these columns with tirteen red lines. Marking the begininng of each line with the first letter of the virtues. With black ink marking a spot upon examination any faults in regards
to the virtue of the week. Each week by order of virtues it would
be the goal by the end of the thirteen weeks to not have any
black spots.

I thought this was a very lofty and ambitious goal to undertake, as did he. But in the pursuit of them is where you find out more of yourself and that of others. I want to attempt
this for myself and give this exercise a worthwhile try for the
thirteen weeks it prescribes.

The book written by him was fascinating and left me wanting to find out more about him at much grearter lengths. You can find this Autobiography for free in Google Books, definetely
worth the read.

I want to Thank You again for stopping by today to read
our new post. I hope it has helped you in some way on your
own journey. Always remember to keep....

Dig Down Deeper...

Good Morning, Afternoon or Good Evening wherever
you may be. I do hope this finds you in good spirits. The
heat and humidity has returned in full force these last few
days in the Boston area, keeping cool whenever possible.
I want to thank you for stopping by our site today, todays
post is about Digging down deeper.

When starting out on some particular goals that you may
have set out for yourself, you may find that you are super
excited at the very begining but that soon wears out as time
goes on. Being very vigalante, you may ask yourself, "what
happened I was being so good?" That does happen to more
people than you think!

Lots of other things such as life may distract you for a day
or two then turns into a couple days. Perhaps even a smidgen
of success towards your goal may have made you lighten up
a bit.

To seperate yourself from others (even your past self)
you need to stop being easy on yourself!

That's when you need to start Digging down deeper in
yourself to keep the torch alit strong with the inspired goals
that you set out for yourself in the first place! Be on guard
at all times never allowing it to dim. Remind yourself that
the pain of giving up on yourself is much greater than any
of the pains of reaching for your goals whatever they may
be. Never losing touch with what you want in the end.

Imagine how you will feel and how you will look when
you do reach your goal will give you the ultimate strength
to carry you on down the finish!

Hope you enjoyed todays post, I do hope that it will help
you in some way on your own journey. What are some of
the ways that you dig down deeper to reach for your goals?
I want to thank you again for stopping by, strive for
Greatness and always remember to keep....

What can you do in 90 Days? (8/1-10/31)

Good Morning, Afternoon or Good Evening wherever you may be. Thank You for stopping by our site today and I do hope that this finds you in good spirits. Today is the last day of our 90 Day Challenge and as it's a time for reflection if you participated this is also a call to arms of sorts that tomorrow August 1st begins our next Living out Louder 90 Day Challenge!

If you were one of the ones that did participate I sure hope that you did well and seen some progress. I recieved alot of emails throughout the process and was very inspired to carry on even further on my own journey of transformation. As it stands my total
body fat loss is at 36lbs. And I have much more work to do as I stated about a week ago I was thinking another 12-15 of body fat to lose but I'm now thinking it may be another 20lbs of body fat to lose. So that's my goal for the next 90 Days. Of course adding much more muscle in the process!

Whether you participated before or not, goal setting is imperitive and tracking what your doing is just as important! If you don't know where you are you don't know where your going!

This is not just a challenge of body fat loss it is a transformation into making yourself much better than where you currently are. To get leaner, more toned, more speed to your run for a better time and a stronger body for a record best lift. Breaking out of all plateus is attainable with some hard work.

I encourage you and I Welcome YOU to join me starting August 1st for our next 90 Day Challenge to eat cleaner and to add more fitness into your life! We will have much more blog posts during this related to the challenge for more tips and motivation.

Anything is possible, the goal is your sail and your actions of hard work is the wind that will push you towards your destination of transformation!

What can you do in 90 Days? Not what would you LIKE to do but what CAN you do? Without Challenges there is no growth that is the basis of all living things. I want to hear from my friends that participated before and from the one's that will accept this challenge that starts on August 1st! If you ever have a question enter it in the comment section below or email me here, Dave's Email. I hope you'll join me and always remember to keep

Good Morning, Afternoon or Good Evening wherever you may be. Thank You for stopping by today and I hope this finds you in good spirits. I wanted to share with you today the most important muscle you should be working and that's your Inner Strength!

Inner Strength is the ability to hide the pain, no matter how
tough the task is at hand

Inner Strength is showing up even when everything in your body tells you not to.

Inner Strength is your best friend when called upon, always reminding you just how Strong you really are.

Inner Strength is a muscle that gets stronger the more you challenge it.

Inner Strength has a way of rewarding you when you least expect it, the mind, body and spirit is inseperable.

Inner Strength gets inspired by what you have done before and
with the positive people you surround yourself with.

Inner Strength is a trust in yourself that you can acomplish anything that you dream of big or small.

Turn it Up!

Good Morning, Afternoon or Good Evening wherever you may
be! Thank you for stopping by today and I hope this finds you in good spirits! I want to share with you today a quick review on our
90 Day Challenge as it is coming to a close with about a week left to go! If your not familiar with it see our previous post on the Living out Louder 90 Day Challenge.

My weigh in on Monday came in at 190lbs which I was elated as
I started this transformation weighing at 225lbs. So the body fat is now melting off and I have at an estimated 12-15lbs of body fat more to burn off! As the picture above suggests Life is a Stereo
Turn it up to 10. That's something I truly believe in. And as you all know I am a big sucker for quotes!

A great way to Turn it up is by working! Yes, working on your goals whatever they may be. Whether it's on your own transformation which by the way the next 90 Day Challenege starts
on August 1st! But yes working on your goals, the only way to get any sort of confidence in ANY area is by getting some sort of success. And to get some success is by working. Cultivate a No Quit attitude and your percieved denials will will only be delays!
That is the cornerstone of anyone that has acheived anything and that is by working at their goals and not quiting. When I was first learning the guitar I remembered a great quote from icon Jeff Beck and he stated that I really fell in Love with the guitar when it started talking back to me! That has stayed with me, I whought Wow  how true is that, so yes at first something may yeild no results but with action taken consistently y6our goals will start talking back to you!

So it's a compound effect going on the more results that you see, the more confidence you have to continue down the path that you are travelling. Don't give up, I promise with a committed attitude you will see results. So turn it up to 10 and don't look back
a stronger you mentally and physically is waiting just around the corner!

I want to thank you for stopping by today. I do hope that this may have helped you on your journey! Has there been any examples in your life that you have wanted to quit but didn't and chose to turn it up? Please share in the comments below with the rest of us here so we may all learn and get inspired! Always remember to keep....

Reflections from the (Gym) Mirror..

Good Morning, Afternoon or Good Evening wherever you may be! I hope this finds you in good spirits, Thank You for stopping by! I wanted to share with you today a prose of sorts that is about what's goes through the mind when working out by the mirrors at the gym.

When I look into the Gym Mirror..
I see doubting eyes that are soon
to be enveloping my entire being
If I'm not too careful to believe in
  their whispering lies..

When I look into the Gym Mirror..
I see veins engorged with nutrient
  riched blood and desire pumping
in and out of my ever increasing
  Heart..

When I look into the Gym Mirror..
I see warriors before me that have
graced my walls and are now too
  generous with there olympic cries
of no quit, spotting my every rep..

When I look into the Gym Mirror..
I see a sculpture that is mine and
mine alone to mold into the vision
I seek with artistic progress only
  He knows is never ending...

When I look into the Gym Mirror..
I see sweat beading on the brow
  from core temperatures rising
  through deliberate pressing of
  Iron overhead...

When I look into the Gym Mirror..
I see the satisfactory grimace as
  if approving my attendance today,
as showing up to do battle is
Victory all in and of itself...

I want to Thank You for taking the
time to read my post today. Let me know what you think.. perhaps what do see in the gym mirror? Be kind
and know miracles are happening all around us, remember to keep...

Independence, Pioneers of the Future..

Good Morning, Afternoon or Evening wherever you may be. Summer has finally arrived with some very hot days here and across the country. In America we are about to celebrate Independence Day on the Fourth of July. This has made me think on a much more personal and  individual level.

As many of you may know by now I'm big on quotes and Daily Affirmations for not only inspiration but motivation to stay on the path that at times can be so easy to veer off course without even knowing it. Have you ever noticed that or has it happened to you? You set out to make a new goal for yourself and get really excited about it only to find out days maybe weeks later you somehow didn't stick with it? Was it an all out very abruptly I give up or just little by little we talked ourselves out if it? Did the excitement of a new Challenge, or Goal wear off? Typically it will, it's up to us to keep that fire alive reminding yourself what it will feel like when this Challenge and Goal is over with.

That's the beauty of words, the ones we choose to use each day can either derail us or to empower us to new heights! This quote from Deepak Chopra has resonated with me on an almost daily level, it is..

"When tempted to react in an old manner ask yourself: Are you a Prisoner of the Past or are you a Pioneer of the Future?"
When I read that it had such an  immediate impact on me! Images of being chained to the floor unable to break free, a place that I refuse to be yet knowing this, We are the captor, we are imprisoning ourselves!

Independence day for each and every one of us! I would like to think we can choose to celebrate our own personal victories over challenges no matter what they are! I love to think that we are blazing a new path. On our new frontier that we are Pioneers of the Future!

I am very Grateful for you taking the time to visit our site today to read this post. I do hope that it has helped you in some way as it has me.

Although I have always said we are where you are and we am,but in an effort to cut down on time spent in the digital world the majority of my online activity (social media) is now on Google Plus. Uncharted Territories, Getting out of your Comfort Zone!

Good Morning, Afternoon and Good Evening
wherever you may be! Where we left off last time
we were talking about Creating your own story.
From telling yourself a negative story that is
keeping you away from something to writing your
own story that will inspire you to champion
through any obstacle.

Today I would like to explore with you one
of those ways and that is getting out of your
Comfort Zone.

Far too often we put ourselves into a state
where we are no longer challenging our selfs.
The hallmark of self esteem is having some
success in something that you have trained for.
In turn this gives you more and more confidence
to continue with what you are doing.

Only you know what the fear of failure is
is holding you back on. Challenge yourself
to do new things. Maybe that could mean planning
a white water rafting trip to experience the
beauty of the outdoors. Maybe it could be to
start your own blog like this one to share your
heart and experiences with the world. Or it could
be to embark on a new fitness program to train
for a half marathon to be held in Las Vegas at
night!

Las Vegas

I urge you to write down one or two things
that you are afraid of doing. Promise yourself
that you take on these challenges this week! I
promise you that you will be stronger for it! If
you need any help with that contact us here and
we'll be more than happy to help. As I have
always said We are in this together!

I do want to Thank You for taking the time
to stop by our site today to read this post. I do

The Truth, No more White Lies! (You are not alone)

Many people need desperately to receive this message:
"I feel and think as much as you do, Care about many of
the things you care about, although most people do not care
about them. You are not alone."
Taken from Timequake, Kurt Vonnegut's last novel.

How many times have you said to yourself I know I should
eat better, I know I should start exercising? Yet have still not
have taken the first step? How many times have you convinced yourself that now is not the right time? How many of these
White Lies have you told to yourself?

1. I will eat better tomorrow! (yet tomorrow never comes)
2. I have a very slow metabolism.
3. I'm just big boned.
4. I'm to old.
5. I'm not fat! (skinny or heavy, flab is flab)
6. Hiding what's really there while in the mirror.
7. Adding another layer of clothes, hoping no one will notice?
8. I will start exercising tomorrow!
9. I just can't do it!
10. I am what I am, Why bother?

If you have told yourself any of the above, the time has
come to stop lying to yourself. These are white lies that we
tell to ourselves to allow us to get off the hook, so as to not
hold ourselves accountable. Yet you are not the only one
who's in Club Denial. I myself have spent many times in and
out of there. It's a great place to get lost in where no effort is
involved until you realize you truly are lost.

Yet, You are not alone, I have struggled as you have. I
have convinced myself of the same White Lies. Your struggle
is my struggle. We are all connected in one way or another.
Random no more, with intention and desire and with purpose
the Truth will blaze a new path of freedom!

ourselves. Here are some new  daily affirmations to introduce
